Raised Panel Front Door In Blue With Sandblast Glass

Our customer wanted a bespoke front door that they had personally designed. They gave us a drawing and some photos of other doors that they liked parts of.

The door was made in Sapele Hardwood with Tricoya Waterproof board for the panels.

Panelled Front Door in Blue

Features

Sandblast Obscure Glass Panel

Antique Brass Hardware

Toughened Glazing

58mm Thick Sapele Door

Tricoya Waterproof Mdf Panels

The raised panels were made using Tricoya waterproof boards to provide a clean panel that will not shrink or split.

The doorset was finished using a 5* wood preserver to stop blue fungi and insect attack. Then Teknos end grain sealer was applied to all end grains and joints to prevent moisture intake. A primer/stain sealer was used to prevent any tanin bleed from the sapele and waterproof boards. Johnstones undercoat and gloss was then used to produce the smooth high gloss finish.

The hardware was chosen by the customer and which included a traditional yale lock and mortice deadlock with a brass knocker and letterbox.

The glass was a sandblast oscure with a clear border to allow light into the porch area while providing some privacy.
